Gujarati Wedding Catering — Pure Vegetarian, Done Right
Gujarati weddings have specific food expectations: pure-vegetarian (no meat, no eggs, often no onion-garlic), a balance of sweet-savory-spicy in every meal, and a deep tradition of thali service. Aroma Curry runs a fully separated vegetarian kitchen for Gujarati and Jain catering across Mexico — no cross-contamination, no shortcuts.
The Authentic Gujarati Thali
Two sabzis (one dry, one gravy), dal, kadhi, rice, two rotis (phulka and bhakri or thepla), salad, papad, two pickles, two farsans (dhokla and khandvi or muthia), one sweet (shrikhand, basundi or aamras with puri), and chaas to finish. Served in proper steel thalis with separate katoris. Nothing on a thali is random — it is a balanced meal designed by generations of Gujarati grandmothers.
Live Farsan & Chaat Stations
For receptions and sangeet, our farsan station is the favorite: live dhokla, khaman, fafda with chutney, gathiya, samosa, kachori, patra, methi gota and dabeli. The fafda-jalebi pairing — fresh hot jalebi straight from the kadhai — is the kind of touch that older relatives remember for years. We also offer a pani puri station with sweet, spicy and jeera waters.
Undhiyu, Surti & Regional Specialties
Winter weddings get authentic Surti undhiyu — the slow-cooked mixed-vegetable dish with muthia, valor and surti papdi. We can also do regional specialties on request: Kathiyawadi sev tameta, Kachchhi dabeli, Surti locho, Saurashtrian gathiya nu shaak. Our chefs include cooks who grew up in Gujarat and cook these dishes the way they would at home.
